Although the third entry received some criticism for being too focused on action over things like atmosphere or immersive sim-style gameplay mechanics, it still landed well with players, and the first two releases in the series are remembered as among the best first-person shooters of their era. Yes happened to me on Bioshock 1 (while collecting pictures for a specific person) and right before i ended the level to go to the next location my game crashed and i have to start at the beginning of that level which took another hour.
